End of an era

Ladies and gentlemen, Adam Sessler has left the building.

After around 15 years at G4 (in all of its incarnations), Sessler's finally flipped them the bird and moved on, and I can't say I blame him.

Any semblance of the quality that was once TechTV or G4 has long since left, and it's not even a ghost of its once self.  In Canada, we've got the poster child for bad television production (Victor Lucas) in charge of about 50% of the content, and X-Play has been relegated to a broadcast schedule that I've yet to figure out.  My understanding has the US version being slightly worse, with X-Play being the last remaining element of gaming and/or tech left on the channel.

Sessler's the reason why I started this blog, and it's fitting that he's the reason why I've decided to post again after so long.  It was his hosting of G4's Feedback vodcast, and the level of highly articulate discourse about the high and might topic of vidya games, that inspired this cat to start thinking more critically about my choice of interactive entertainment.

He will definitely be missed by I, but at least I no longer have to pay much attention to G4 anymore.  Here's hoping that he'll be back in front of the camera soon, and talking about that which he has a passion for once again.

Mr. Sessler, I'd pour a 40 on the curb for you, but I don't think it' s needed.  (Plus, it's a waste of perfectly good alcohol.)

I will, however, remove my G4 links, although I might bring back my link to Feedback.

(June 2, 2012: Which I am today.  The show's taken a nose dive, but it's still smarter than most of the commentary and coverage that's out there.)
